令和３年度は、コロナ感染症の影響のため、海外での調査活動ができなかった。具体的には、キプロスの博物館での調査、同地の遺跡調査、ノルウェーの博物館（コンティキ号博物館及び歴史博物館（オスロ））での調査、アイルランドの博物館（アイルランド国立博物館（考古学館）内キプロスコレクション）での調査（以上は、令和２年度に予定しており、コロナ感染症の影響のため実施できなかったもの）、：エジプトの考古学博物館、ルクソール博物館、ドイツのペルガモン博物館、旧国立博物館、キプロスの遺跡,博物館での調査が実施できなかった。上記の理由により、本年の研究活動は、テクスト群の分析（オープンディスカッション運用のありかたを対話テクストの分析によって明らかにし、民主政型言論文化と王政型言論文化を比較する）が中心となった。
古代ギリシア語テクストとしては、伝ホメーロス作叙事詩『イーリアス』を中心に取り上げ、論文１本の成果を得た。（高橋秀樹、「アウトメドーンの苦闘と大アイアースのリーダーシップ～『イーリアス』第XVII書に見る強制（強請）行為～」、単著、『資料学研究』第19号、2022年、pp.1-41、査読有。）古代エジプト語テクストとしては、『雄弁な農夫の物語』を中心に分析を進めた。
上記と並行して、海上交易路について海洋人類学の成果を踏まえた文化的往還について、先行研究の精査を中心に文献研究を行った。
それぞれの文明に特徴的な思考方法や論理構成について、図像的嗜好や図像的表象と連動して分析する研究活動については、美術史的知見を整理しつつ、図版や写真資料等を活用して研究を進めた。予定としては文献研究だけでなく海外の博物館の諸資料を実見して行うはずだったが、その点については次年度以降、状況が可能になり次第、集中的に実施していきたい。

I conducted a comparative study of the orality cultures of ancient Greece and Egypt. The subjects of analysis are the "dialogue literature" of ancient Egypt and the epic of ancient Greece. When analyzing the utterances of each literary character, I focused on what kind of utterances worked effectively during the discussion. I also analyzed the differences between two civilizations when the downfall of society was talked about as a topic of intense discussion. Through these analyses, I clarified some aspects of the differences between orality cultures that formed the basis of a tyranny and a democracy.

The main purpose of the project is to investigate the historical development of relationships between port cities and their inland regions in order to clarify the formation of the world-wide and local orders. Recent maritime studies, which have clarified the development of maritime networks from the early modern era, are inclined to suggest the intensification of influence of the port cities upon their hinterlands. Meanwhile, our project by examining various cases in Asia, Europe, North and South America, Europe and Japan has shown that the relationships between the two did not necessarily transform themselves into one-sided. While some cases showing the formation of more homogeneous areas by the development of traffic, in other cases appear growing disconnections between the two during the modern era. These cases suggest us the renewed importance of the role of the go-between who mediates the port city and its inland society creating the "outer" and "inner" areas.

At first we make and supplement databases of wooden manuscripts, entombed bottles, and brick & wall paintings of tombs. And we study the local and basic society in ancient China from 2nd for 3rd century multiplely. We can understand that an order of Hu(戸) was in process of constitution through the database of wooden manuscripts, and burial type and conviction differed notably every district named Jun(郡) through databases of entombed bottles and brick & wall paintings of tombs.

The study of the role played by slaves, immigrants and people of mixed blood as intermediaries between foreign visitors and local society has shed new light on our understanding of social integration of ports cities. Through the comparative study between slaves in the Mediterranean, Islamic, European and American worlds and those of South, Southeast and East Asia, both similarities and differences in social status and the very concept of "slave" have come to light. The importance of role of immigrants not only in enlarging networks linking their homes with migration destination points, but also in social cooperation within their adopted societies has been examined. The role of local women who cohabited with foreigners and migrants has been clarified through a wide range of case studies covering East, Southeast, South and West Asia. The role of such mediators between foreigners and local people in the modern world needs to be further examined.

It has been confirmed that Amun adoration as an influence of the ancient Egyptian culture reached as far as the Sahara region beyond Egyptian western desert. Specific examples are Nadoura temple in Kharga Oasis, Ain Amur temple in Dakhla Oasis, Amun temple in Siwa Oasis, and scattered other temples and wall paintings or rock arts in the Sahara desert. It believes that this research will serve as a basis of comprehensive ancient Egyptian studies that covers not just Egypt but North Africa on the whole.

文学研究への橋渡しとなる理論研究としての情報社会論のモデル構築を継続し,分析モデルの詳細化を行った.具体的には,一昨年度の成果である論文「オートポイエティック情報社会論」に基づき,オートポイエティックなシステムの二元性を考慮したモデルの詳細化を行った.また,昨年度の論文「ネットワーク社会とオートポイエティック情報システム」に基づき,ネットワーク社会においてオートポイエティックな機能を期待されているロボティクスを,モデルを詳細化して分析した.研究成果を論文「オートポイエーシス・システムの二元性と情報社会システム」と「ネットワーク社会における人とロボットの共生」にまとめた.
文学研究にシステムズアプローチを導入するための先駆的理論として,ルーマンの芸術一般へのシステムズアプローチの適用として、『社会の芸術』がある。しかし,文学一般における、言語一般からの文学の創出emergenceという観点から見た場合,ルーマンの理論には満足できない点が多い.ルーマンの理論に代わる,文学におけるシステムズアプローチ適用の可能性を探るために,実例として小林秀雄の散文、マラルメの詩と散文をテクストとして取り上げ,詩的創出としてのポエジーの成立と,散文における文体の<声>の創出をオートポイエーシスの観点からモデル化する研究を行い、その成果を論文「ポエジーと文体におけるオートポイエーシス」にまとめた。
研究期間の最終年度にあたり、西洋古典や古代中東の文芸作品を分析するための手法についての見解をまとめた。西洋古代、とりわけ古代ギリシアの文化については、近年メソポタミアやエジプトからの強い影響が指摘される傾向が強く、その独自性を再検討する必要が出てきている。この問題を扱うための手法を、システムズアプローチの観点から検討した。そしてその手法を、創世神話の構成要素、賢者観念の定型表現、物語の話型とメッセージの連関、などの具体的事例の分析に適用することを試みた。
最終年度として,研究成果を四論文にまとめ,研究報告書を刊行した.

The results of this study can be summarized as follows. First of all, the perspectives and materials for this comparative study between jurisprudence and rhetoric in ancient Greece and Rome are broadened to a great extent. The previous studies only focused on the relationships between Ciceronian rhetoric and jurisprudence in the later Republic, or between doctrines of stoic philosophy (such as natural law, justice and equity) and classical Roman law. This study embraces such topics as previously have not been tackled, for example Greek law and forensic oratory Isaeus, Demosthenes), rhetoric in the high Roman Empire including political speeches of Pliny and Seneca, and patristic oratory such as Ammianus Marcellinus in the later Roman Empire. Secondly, new methodologies are employed, for example, comparisons from the argumentative perspectives (dialectic and paradigm, in other words, arguments from analogy and polarity, associative thinking). This methodology opens new possibilities in bridging classical Roman law and its later developments in Medieval and Modern periods, also Roman jurisprudence and canonistic jurisprudence. Thirdly, new translations and commentaries are produced. In particular, de inventione of Cicero is translated with comprehensive commentary from legal points of view, for example, terminologies in the status theory are now freshly translated into Japanese, which contributes to the new understanding of Ciceronian rhetoric. Lastly, there remain few things to be done. Above all, the work in collecting and editing principal sources for the comparison between rhetoric and jurisprudence has not fully extended. All the collaborators in this study agree that sources presenting conflict scenes (both factual and imaginary) including formal court procedures must be folly listed and collected in the right order.

The purposes of this research have been as follows :
A) To reconsider the whole epic world from the diachronic and synchronic point of view and clarify the aspects common to epics belonging to different cultural regions and those specific to each epic.
B) To enlarge the field of the epic in terms of synchronicity and diachronicity and to analyze the relationship between aspects common to humanity and those historically and culturally different in order to study the origin of the same qualities of epics that belong to different historical and cultural, regions.
The results of our study in the academic years 2000-2002 are as follows :
As for the problem of allegorical quality of the epic, Sasaki discusses the use of the labyrinth in Greek and Roman epics and its influence on Shakespeare in his treatise 'The Synecdoche of the Labyrinth'. Kasai discusses the techniques of persuasion from the narrative and historical point of view in his 'An Aspect of Gods in Homer : Social Relationship and Persuasion'. T. Suzuki, Ogi and Takahashi discuss the problems of narration and narrator in the different cultural regions in their 'The Versification of The Tale of Heike'(T. Suzuki), 'Ukara of Human Beings'(Ogi) and 'The Transformation of Tale Type and Message in the case of <Complaint in Heavens>' (Takahashi). As for the problem of how the common idea of 'epic' is formed in different cultures, Karibe studies the common elements in the old English epic Beowulf and Japanese demonology in his 'Reading the Old English Epic Beowulf through the Japanese Monster Lore'.
